Who does Atiyaf serve?

Atiyaf serves children who need support with development, communication, learning skills or behaviour, whether or not they have a prior diagnosis. This includes children with:

A diagnosis is not required to start — sometimes the first step is simply understanding the child’s level and identifying their needs more precisely.
  • Autism spectrum disorder.
  • Developmental delay.
  • ADHD.
  • Intellectual disability.
  • Delayed communication skills.
  • Difficulties with attention, imitation or play.
  • Difficulties with independence and daily-living skills.
  • Behaviour problems that need understanding and structured intervention.

Atiyaf services

Child skills assessment

A structured assessment that builds a clear picture of the child’s current level, strengths and the skills that need more support.

We look at the child’s actual level across different skills — not just their age — so we can set the right priorities.

Communication & Verbal Behavior assessment

Assessing communication is not just counting the words a child uses. We look at how the child uses communication in daily life, for example:

  • Can they request what they want?
  • Do they understand instructions?
  • Do they name things?
  • Do they imitate sounds or words?
  • Do they answer questions?
  • Can they interact with others?

Based on this, we identify the skills that need teaching.

Individual plan

No single programme fits every child. After the assessment, we build an individual plan that matches the child’s current level and needs, with clear, practical and measurable goals.

The plan also sets out how each goal is taught, how progress is tracked, and the activities and materials suited to it.

Parent training

We help families turn the goals written in the plan into real teaching moments at home. Teaching may happen during:

  • Play.
  • Meals.
  • Getting dressed.
  • Outings.
  • Daily routines.
  • Household activities.

The aim is not to turn the child’s day into non-stop sessions, but to use natural situations to build their skills.

Individual remote follow-up

Once the plan is in place, follow-up with the family and child continues. It may include:

  • Live online sessions.
  • Observing parents while they practise a goal.
  • Reviewing short videos from home.
  • Giving feedback and correcting how goals are applied.
  • Tracking the child’s progress.
  • Adjusting activities or teaching methods when needed.

The follow-up format and session length depend on each child’s needs.

Behaviour consultations

When a behaviour such as screaming, hitting, running away or refusing appears, we don’t start by trying to stop it at random. First we try to understand:

  • When does the behaviour happen?
  • What happens before it?
  • What happens after it?
  • What is its likely function?

Then we decide on the right steps based on the information and data available.

Because parents are closest to the child

A child may learn a skill during a session, but the real goal is to use it at home, at school, and with different people and situations. That is why we treat the family as an essential part of the child’s plan.

We work with parents so they know:
  • Which goal is the child working on?
  • Why was it chosen?
  • How is it taught?
  • When do we help the child?
  • How do we fade help gradually?
  • How do we use reinforcement appropriately?
  • And how do we know there is real progress?
