We offer assessment, planning and parent training using evidence-based scientific methods and assessment tools suited to each child’s needs, under the supervision of experienced specialists.

Child skills assessment

A structured assessment using scientific tools and methods to identify the child’s level, strengths and needs in areas such as communication, understanding language, requesting, imitation, play, attention, social skills and independence.

Behaviour assessment

A structured assessment to understand a behaviour and the factors linked to it, in order to choose the right intervention.

Individual plan

A plan built on the assessment results, with clear, measurable goals that fit the child’s needs.

Parent training

Practical training that helps the family apply the child’s goals correctly in daily life, under the specialist’s supervision.

Consultations

Sessions with a specialist to discuss the child’s situation or a specific concern and decide on the right steps.

Children we support

Atiyaf supports children who need help in areas such as development, communication, learning new skills, independence and behaviour.

This includes children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, ADHD, and communication or behaviour difficulties.

How is your child’s skills assessment done?

  1. Initial information about the child

The parent fills in a short form that helps us get to know the child, their current skills and what worries the family.

  2. Choosing the right assessment

The specialist reviews the information and decides which skill areas to assess and which tool suits the child’s situation and age.

  3. Assessment with the child and family

The assessment happens online with the child and parent, by observing the child and carrying out suitable activities and tasks under the specialist’s supervision.

  4. Analysing the results

We identify the skills that need more support for the child’s age, then set priorities and build the individual plan on them.

Parents are key partners in a child’s development

We train parents to apply the child’s goals in daily life, which helps the child generalise skills and use them with different people and in different situations, under specialist supervision.

Generalising a skill means the child uses it not only in the session, but in daily life, with different people, places and situations.

Evidence-based methods

At Atiyaf we rely on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), one of the most widely researched approaches for supporting children with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disorders, especially in communication, skill learning, independence and behaviour.

The Atiyaf team works to professional standards in Applied Behavior Analysis, including those of the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA) in the United States.
We also use the principles of Verbal Behavior to understand and teach a child’s communication by the purpose it serves in daily life.

Does my child need a diagnosis before I contact Atiyaf?
No. Families can contact us even without a diagnosis, especially if they have concerns about development, communication, skills or behaviour.
Is the child information form an assessment?
No. The form helps us get a general picture of the child and why the family is reaching out. It gives no result or diagnosis.
Are the screening tools a diagnosis?
No. Screening tools help spot certain signs and decide whether a more detailed assessment is needed, but they do not provide a diagnosis.
Can a child’s skills be assessed remotely?
Many skills can be assessed remotely through observation, specific activities carried out under the specialist’s supervision, and information and videos when needed. The specialist decides whether this approach suits each case.
Do all children get the same plan?
No. Every child has a different level and different needs, so goals and activities are chosen based on their assessment results.
Do you provide activities designed for my child?
Yes. We can prepare digital activities and printable materials linked to the child’s goals.
Do you work with the parents or with the child?
We work with the child and with the person closest to them, because training the family is essential for carrying skills into daily life.
How does follow-up work?
Through live sessions, observing how the family applies the goals, reviewing videos, and discussing progress and challenges with the specialist.
How long is a session?
Session length depends on the type of service and the child’s needs.
Are Atiyaf’s services only for autism?
No. We work with children who have different needs in development, communication, skills or behaviour, with or without a diagnosis.
